From time to time, designers employ metallic brushes, textures and patterns in creating a variety of artworks and web designs. This is pretty common especially if you need to produce high-quality and photo realistic designs. Whether you are creating icon sets, posters, flyers or web backgrounds, you will always find it necessary to use some metallic brushes, textures or patterns if you want it to exude a distinct look and feel.
Grungy and rusty metals for example can evoke a feeling of being neglected; of being mysterious and macabric. On the other hand, a shiny steel texture would have a look of being rigid, strong and unforgiving – characteristics which are somewhat different from that of wooden textures; and those which are captured from paper. Meanwhile, gold can be used to portray pomp, affluence and elegance in artworks and designs, etc. This of course would depend by large measure on how a designer would execute his concepts and ideas and how he manipulates the materials available to him.
